Kingsland Wildflowers Green roof is home to an abundance of native plants and insects. The roof provides incredible views of Manhattan and the heavy industrial zones both next door and in the distance.

Both the views and plantings create an opportunity for conversation and education around New York City’s conservation efforts, green infrastructure initiatives and policy, and our role in the growing climate crisis.

Plan your visit at the link below and check out our gallery to see more photos of the green roof.

Press Quotes:

The green roof in Brooklyn, Kingsland Wildflowers at Broadway Stages, draws endangered monarch butterflies, a panoply of birds and wild bees that are native to New York City but threatened by what scientists have called an “insect apocalypse.”
— The New York Times
A mini neighborhood oasis in a neglected pocket of industrial sites and gritty corners.
— INHABIT
A special but very different garden setting is Kingsland Wildflowers in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. The rooftop garden, which is currently in bloom, sits within a manufacturing neighborhood. It is an amazing juxtaposition of the soft wildflowers blowing in the wind against the industrial buildings surrounding it.
— Architectural Digest

Funding for the development of Kingsland Wildflowers green roofs was provided by the Office of the New York State Attorney General and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation through the Greenpoint Community Environmental Fund.
