Friday Evening Open Hours

Friday evenings, through the spring and summer, we host Open Hours to extend an intentional invitation to any and all community members and visitors looking for opportunities to explore the green roof!

During Open Hours visitors have the opportunity to learn about green roofs, help with wildflower seed collection, and enjoy the moments before sunset from the iconic rooftop. Newtown Creek Alliance staff will be on hand to lead guided tours, answer questions about the roofs, provide educational resources on the ecological benefits of green roofs, and share information about the political and environmental work they are doing along Newtown Creek. 2024 Open Hours are free and open to the public and will take place every Friday from April 19 through June, weather-permitting. Registrants will be notified of any cancellations on the day of the event.
